15th January 2018
BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2018

Welcome to the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2018. The shortlist for this year's awards has now been announced and voting is open.

Our panel of expert judges scrutinised all the suggestions from readers and deliberated for hours to select five outstanding contenders in each category.

Judge John Craven said: “Helping to choose the shortlists meant interacting with you, our readers, in a quite remarkable way. We carefully considered every nomination and some were for places I had never heard of but which you obviously love. That made me determined to check them out, while others rekindled many happy memories. What a pleasant way to spend a few hours – discovering your particular favourites in the massive cornucopia that is our countryside.”

Huge congratulations to our finalists, it is a real achievement to make it onto the shortlist as the competition was stiff.

From Friday 19th January, it is up to you, the nature-loving public to decide the ultimate winners.

Good luck to all the candidates!
