Ty Newydd (above) is open to everyone, of all ages, experiences and whatever genre you wish to write in. Ty Newydd is a gorgeous building in Abercain, and was the final home of Lloyd George. It has secluded gardens and stunning views of Cardigan Bay. They run writing courses and retreats throughout the year, including a poetry course led by Carol Ann Duffy, and a nature writing course in October, taught by Nigel Brown and Mark Cocker.

Tanera Mor Isle, north-west Scotland

Tanera Mor (above) is the only inhabited isle in the Summer Isles of north-west Scotland and will play host to a weeklong creative writing retreat. There will be a daily programme of mini-workshops and activity walks, with lots of free time to enjoy the island or get writing in your room.
