Fountains Abbey in the sun
One of the most impressive ruined Cistercian monasteries in England, Fountains Abbey – founded in 1132 – was the film set for the British fantasy drama film The Secret Garden.
Also known as Batty Moss Viaduct, this impressive piece of engineering – designed by John Sydney Crossley – took four years to build, eventually being completed in 1874.
